5 free agents to monitor moving forward: Point guards

The first point guard that will be mentioned in this article is an undrafted rookie Daishen Nix who is currently playing on the Philadelphia 76ers Summer League roster. Nix played on the G-League Ignite last season as well and while he’s a raw prospect, he’s shown plenty of flashes in both the G-League last year and in Summer League up to this point.

More from The Sixer Sense

Last season for the Ignite, Nix averaged 8.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 2.9 turnovers, while making only 17.6 percent of his 3-pointers. He has potential as a playmaker and if the Sixers free up a two-way contract spot then he’d be worth it. If nothing else, he should be offered an Exhibit 10 contract so he can play with the Sixers’ G-League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats last summer.

If the team doesn’t want another young player, they could take a flier on venteran combo guard Brandon Knight. Before injuries, Knight was a two-way combo guard that could score and secondary playmaker. However, multiple injuries has put his career on a holt.

The 29-year-old veteran is currently on the Brooklyn Nets Summer League roster trying to his career back on track. The Sixers shouldn’t try to bring in Knight as a main rotation piece, but having his as a 14th or 15th man on the bench wouldn’t be terrible.

There’s some solid options out in free agency if the Philadelphia 76ers make moves and need to add more players to their roster.
