3 players who should be on the trade block: Furkan Korkmaz

It’s weird to have a guy who just signed a three year contract on this list but hear me out. It’s not so much that Furkan Korkmaz should be actively shopped, but if other teams are interested in the sharpshooter, then the Philadelphia 76ers should listen.

“If Korkmaz is on the 76ers this season, then [Isaiah] Joe will be pushing him for minutes.”

It’s not because he’s not going to be in the rotation next season. He held up defensively in the playoffs and last season he had another solid season shooting. In the 2020-21, he averaged 9.1 points on 37.5 percent from deep.

It’s nothing Korkmaz has or hasn’t done for him being on this list, but it’s who the Sixers have waiting behind him. Isaiah Joe has the potential to be an even better shooter than Korkmaz. If the Sixers can fill a need elsewhere by trading Korkmaz, then they should do it because they can replace him with Joe.

Joe showed off his potential as a shooter in the NBA Summer League. He averaged 14.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.3 assists, while making 37.5 percent on 10 attempts in the summer league. If Korkmaz is on the 76ers this season, then Joe will be pushing him for minutes.
