Sixers free agent tracker 2021 offseason: Shooting guards

Lou Williams (2005-12)

For the first seven seasons of his career, Lou Williams was the Philadelphia 76ers sixth man. Since he left the City of Brotherly Love, Williams has become one of the best sixth men in NBA history. Now he’s near the end of his career, but he re-signed with his hometown team the Atlanta Hawks, and figures to be part of the rotation again next season at the age of 34-years-old.

J.J. Redick (2017-19)

Despite being in his 30’s when he was a part of the Sixers roster, he had the best stint of his career with the franchise. I’ve previously written about J.J. Redick being a free agent target as he’s still a free agent. He didn’t have a good season with the New Orleans Pelicans and Dallas Mavericks, but he should still have something left in the tank for a contender like Philly.

Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot (2016-18)

Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot was a former first round pick of the 76ers in 2016 but never lived up to the billing. He was traded just two seasons into his career. He had found a home with the Brooklyn Nets the past two seasons. He’s currently a free agent and at 26-years-old, he should still get another chance in Brooklyn or elsewhere in the NBA.

Rayjon Tucker (2020-21)

Rayjon Tucker is the newest of former Philly free agents as he was on the team’s Summer League roster this offseason. I wrote about how the Sixers should move on from Tucker before the move was made. Based on his skillset and production, it seems unlikely he will start the season on a roster this year.
