On this episode of the Sixer Sense Podcast, the Philadelphia 76ers are back on track in the win column but still don’t have closure to the Ben Simmons situation. We begin the podcast with the recent games against two Eastern Conference teams.
The Sixer Sense Podcast Episode 156
The Sixers game versus the Wizards on MLK Day is discussed first, where we analyze the bad and the good that happened throughout the game. Then we pivot to the memorable performance from Joel Embiid in the Orlando game. The Sixers’ perennial All-Star put on a show for the Wells Fargo Center crowd, showing off his array of moves and versatility. We discuss his performance and where we think he stands in the MVP race.
The podcast then shifts to the recent report about a deal for Ben Simmons that was turned down by the Sixers front office. Apparently, the Detroit Pistons were willing to part ways with Jerami Grant, Saddiq Bey, Kelly Olynyk, and a future draft pick for the Sixers’ unhappy point guard. We talk about whether this trade offer was fair and if it would have improved the 76ers roster.
Next, we dive into another report about James Harden being open to playing for another franchise. Due to this report, we explore reasons why he’d likely leave Brooklyn and if he still makes the Sixers better despite having a down season and being a year older.
The last topic revolves around the value of Matisse Thybulle. We debate on the value he has on the Sixers and if he should be included in any trades as the Sixers try to offload Ben Simmons.
