3 potential Thybulle trades: Washington Wizards

I was tempted to write about a Bradley Beal trade at this spot, but choose to go a different direction on this particular slide. The Washington Wizards might not have a co-star for Beal, but they do have a plethora of forwards.

In fact, there’s a strong argument that they have too many forwards with the likes of Kyle Kuzma, Rui Hachimura, and Deni Avdija on the roster. All three deserve playing time but the Wizards don’t have enough of it. This deal below helps Washington solve that problem.

The Sixers land Avdija in this trade for Thybulle. This is a straight swap here. It’s clear that Thybulle is the better player as he’s an elite defender, but Avdija has the potential to become more of a two-way player. He’s a good defense, is underrated as a playmaker, and just needs to improve his outside shot.

This is a bit of a gamble here for the Sixers as Avdija hasn’t shown growth in his jumper during two seasons. However, he’s bigger and longer as a defender, and more importantly, he has room to grow on offense at only 21-years-old. If he develops the outside shot then he will become a very good starter in the league.
