If there is one thing the Philadelphia 76ers are in dire need of right now, it is constant source of scoring. With four of their five leading scorers currently sidelined due to injuries, this team has basically been sapped of their high-end scoring weapons. While they have been able to win games while being shorthanded, their talent deficit has simply been too much to handle for the most part.

Fortunately for the coaching staff, as they await the return of their key cogs, they might have just stumbled into someone who can give them a lift on the scoring department in Marjon Beauchamp. Signed by the 76ers in late December to fill in one of their two-way spots, he has displayed some glimpses of scoring at all three levels in his limited minutes.

The 25-year-old wing, who was selected 22nd overall four years ago by the Bucks, has not had the real opportunity to showcase his skills on a full-time basis. Milwaukee, still laden with veteran commodities at the time, barely even trotted him out for regular court time. In all honesty, that will remain the status quo for him in Philly, but if he keeps playing well in his limited minutes, he might just be able to force the front office to take a flier on him moving forward.

Marjon Beauchamp has impressed in his limited minutes for the 76ers

At 6’7, Beauchamp has great size for his position. But more importantly, he seems more comfortable than before when it comes to making the most of his physique to generate efficient shots.

Having appeared in just seven games for the 76ers thus far, it is hard to make a firm prognosis on what he could provide the team. But going by his recent outing against the Nuggets, where he poured in 16 points built on six of 11 shooting from the field while draining four of his eight three-point shots in just 20 minutes, the coaching staff might have just stumbled upon a quick fix to their biggest problem in the meantime.

Joel Embiid seems to be getting closer to making his return, but Tyrese Maxey and Kelly Oubre Jr. will still take some time before they can get back. As such, deploying Beauchamp would not be a bad idea, especially since he can provide a healthy dose of scoring and shooting in spurts.

Without ruling on his future with the 76ers, Marjon Beauchamp already looks like a solid two-way addition for the team. Hopefully, he can continue making the most of his limited opportunities in what is essentially an audition platform right now.
