The game will be an exciting one to watch--but a pricey one to attend. Unsurprisingly, the initial reports suggest that the get-in price is reaching historic levels early on.
The Knicks and the Sixers will make history
According to Front Office Sports, the get-in price was set for $1,999 on TickPick, which would be the most expensive home opener in NBA history. While it's still early, and TickPick is just one of many sellers, nobody is really going to be surprised if records get shattered with this game.

For starters, it's New York City. Madison Square Garden is one of the most iconic venues in the world, sitting in one of the most notable cities in the United States of America. Even a regular Tuesday night in the middle of the regular season can get pricey for the Knicks.
Now you're adding in the fact that the Knicks are going to raise their championship banner that night. The city has been starved for a championship for decades, and they finally got it after the Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs a few months ago. Banner night is always going to carry more weight for a fan base.
The 76ers effect
Consider the Sixers one of the most popular teams at this point. They might be fresh off a Play-In bid, with a second-round loss against the Knicks in the playoffs, but they made one of the biggest blockbuster trades of the offseason, and secured the biggest free agency signing.
Jaylen Brown left the Boston Celtics after a decade, getting sent to the 76ers in shocking fashion. He joins the team after an MVP-caliber run with their division rivals.
LeBron James didn't chase the bag in free agency, but his decision to sign with the Sixers was major. Still producing at an All-Star level, LeBron James garnered plenty of attention from the league during his first free agency run in eight years. Although the 76ers were viewed as long shots to land him, they ended up winning the sweepstakes.
James returns to the Eastern Conference and will begin his 76ers stint with a matchup in an arena he's been fond of throughout his career. While it's just game one of 82, the opener's atmosphere will have championship levels to it.
