76ers silence could cost them a proven weapon every contender wants

No better value than this one.

The Philadelphia 76ers remain in dire need of three-point shooting this season. That was definitely something that derailed their cause during the previous campaign, and if we are to gauge how they have looked so far this preseason, it is probably safe to peg them as a ball club whose perimeter acumen is severely lacking.

Put simply, the 76ers are not a good shooting team, which is absolutely counterproductive given their amalgam of talent when it comes to on-ball creation. Philly has a slew of players who can create their own shot, but they have a shortage of three-point marksmen who can further help them generate even more space and room to operate.

That is precisely why the front office should continue scouting the market for who remains available. Just recently, the front office signed Marjon Beauchamp to an Exhibit 10 deal, but he will clearly log more time in the G-League and someone who is only a hair above league average as a three-point shooter is probably not going to cut it.

And what better name to chase for the 76ers than someone who drained the second-most three-pointers in the league last season?

The 76ers should seriously consider targeting Malik Beasley before another contender scoops him up

Perhaps the most notable free agent left, Malik Beasley still does not have a home for this season. Thanks to some serious off-court allegations hurled at him, teams have become wary of his precarious situation and have preferred to stay out of talks regarding his services.

Yet if there is one thing clear, it is that Beasley is one of the best snipers in the game. He is coming off his best campaign as a pro, and was a major force behind Detroit leaping past expectations.

Philly, with its troubling lack of reliable three-point shooters, should do whatever it takes to get them to dip their fingers into the Malik Beasley train, which remains a slow-moving one. However, some contenders are already trying to get their hands on the veteran, especially since his market has become dry and he will likely not fetch some handsome offers at this juncture.

The 76ers still have a roster spot, and with some financial gymnastics, they might just be able to free up some more money to offer to Beasley. He would be a perfect addition for this squad due to his sheer prowess as a three-point shooter.
