Well, that settles things.

LeBron James deciding to leave the Lakers to join the Philadelphia 76ers was a decision that was not too far-fetched from reality, but still ended up surprising many. After all, the megastar had already firmly cemented himself as a prominent figure in Los Angeles. Aside from that, his exit also meant that he was leaving his son, Bronny, with his former ball club –– a situation which was definitely interesting to see. And at last, the younger James finally made his feelings clear about what transpired this summer.

It seems that Bronny is not really letting his father's decision sway him too much at this point in time. When asked by some kids at a camp about how he felt about LeBron going to Philly, the younger James did not dish out much, saying, "It's whatever, it's my dad." If anything, this signals that Bronny is slowly taking a step forward in making his own name in the league, although that has proven to be difficult early on.

Bronny's footing as a professional basketball player in the NBA has always been marred by the popular belief among naysayers that he was an addition due to nepotism. After all, he saw his draft stock slowly fall apart, but the Lakers drafted him with the 55th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, obviously right when his father was still with the team.

As a result, the Lakers were able to grant James' wish to be the first father-son duo to play in the NBA at the same time, made even more special by the fact that they were on the same team. However, that preternatural link now ends as LeBron heads to the 76ers whereas Bronny remained with the Lakers.

With Bronny now being the only James in Los Angeles, he will finally get the prime opportunity to show people that he is more than just LeBron's junior. He showed some glimpses as a rotation-caliber role player in the league over the last couple of years, especially on the defensive end, and that is something the Lakers will need next season.

For now, LeBron has his eyes set on helping the Philadelphia 76ers finally get over the hump and win the championship. On the flip side, Bronny should be determined to prove his detractors wrong. Either way, both Jameses now have their own missions to take, albeit separately this time around.
