After seeing a completely dry market for his services this offseason, former 76ers wing Dalen Terry has landed a new home ahead of next season after reportedly signing a one-year deal with the Golden State Warriors. This is the expected landing spot for the 24-year-old, who was never really linked to any other team as a free agent.
Terry split time last season between Chicago and Philadelphia. The Bulls had him for nearly four seasons before eventually deciding to part ways with their former first-round pick. The 76ers quickly scooped him up from the waiver wire, adding him as a two-way player to the roster. However, thanks to the front office managing to bring in both LeBron James and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in free agency, Terry became the odd man out and was subsequently waived.

Terry will be entering his fifth year in the league in the coming season, but he has not yet been successful in solidifying his footing as a pro. Despite picking him with the 18th overall pick in the draft just four years ago, the Bulls never had a clear idea as to how they should deploy him or develop his game.
His fortunes did not flip even when he moved on and landed in Philly. He sparsely played for the 76ers, averaging just 12.4 minutes in 14 appearances during the regular season. Throughout the team's playoff run, he only registered 39 minutes in total, largely coming from garbage time duty.
The Warriors are technically bringing Terry in as a training camp invitee, so his roster spot is not yet guaranteed. However, Golden State is especially in need of more depth at the forward position given the ongoing rehab of Jimmy Butler, so he should have an outside chance of making it to their regular-season roster.
As a defensive-minded piece, Terry should fit well within Steve Kerr's switch-heavy schemes on D. That being said, he has to show some real growth on the offensive end, which has been his Achilles' heel since entering the league. His three-point shot, in particular, has to be at least respectable if he wants real staying power in the league.
Dalen Terry did not get much chance to showcase himself with the 76ers, but he now has the opportunity to do that with the Warriors during training camp. Hopefully, he can make this unexpected opportunity count.
