After factoring LeBron James out of the equation for the Golden State Warriors, Steph Curry's team out West is looking at a couple of former Philadelphia 76ers who are sitting on the NBA free agency market, searching for their next landing spot.
LeBron's decision to join the Sixers didn't do any favors for Dalen Terry, but he could at least end up on the Warriors, who are looking to finalize their team now that the LeBron and Draymond Green situations are sorted.
The Warriors are looking at some former 76ers
According to The Stein Line, Dalen Terry is a "potential Warriors target." It's not necessarily a brand new development, but it's one that has come up multiple times over the past couple of weeks at this point.
Terry, 24, is a small forward who joined the Sixers amid the 2025-2026 NBA season. After starting the season with the Chicago Bulls for his fourth year with the team, Terry was traded in early February. He was included in the deal that helped the Bulls land the ex-Sixer, Guerschon Yabusele.
Terry went to the Knicks before being flipped to the New Orleans Pelicans, who then cut him loose the following day. The Sixers came in with a two-way contract offer on February 10. Two months later, Terry landed a standard NBA contract, which was non-guaranteed in 2026-2027.
In 14 games with the Sixers, Terry averaged 12.4 minutes off the bench. He produced 4.1 points per game, along with 1.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists. In total, Terry has 218 games under his belt. Throughout his career, the ex-Bulls forward posted averages of 3.5 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists.
When the 76ers added LeBron, they needed to cut a man loose. Unfortunately, Terry's lack of a guaranteed contract contributed to him being the odd man out.
An old friend, too
Georges Niang is another name being linked to the Golden State Warriors. The Stein Line noted that Niang is "drawing legitimate interest" at this stage of the offseason. He is the second former Sixer to be on a shortlist of GSW targets.
The 33-year-old joined the 76ers in 2021, after spending four years with the Utah Jazz. He shot 40.2% from three, averaging 8.7 points per game over two seasons with the Sixers. The 76ers were outpriced by the Cleveland Cavaliers in free agency in 2023. Niang was traded amid his second season with the Cavs. He spent 28 games with the Atlanta Hawks before getting traded back to Utah, where he simply rehabbed throughout the 2025-2026 NBA season.
The nine-year veteran has been a free agent, but the chance to link with Golden State seems to be a real possibility for the former Sixer.
