The NBA officially announced the Philadelphia 76ers' schedule on Thursday, delivering the team and its fan base every key date to look forward to throughout the 2026-2027 NBA season.
The additions of LeBron James and Jaylen Brown have made the Sixers must-see TV this season. Following the announcement of the schedule, LeBron took to social media to send the city a message.
The King is ready to roll
The Sixers announced the schedule in a unique way on Thursday, highlighting each matchup. LeBron James reposted the Christmas Day battle against his former team, the Los Angeles Lakers, with a message attached.

James will make his anticipated return to Los Angeles for a battle on his old stomping grounds on December 25. Then, the Sixers will host Luka Doncic and the Lakers later in the year, with a March 4 game in South Philly.
It's been quite a while since LeBron James was on the other side of a Lakers matchup. The last time he faced the team was on March 11, 2018. At the time, James was playing through his second stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers. That summer, he became a free agent and looked at several teams. The Sixers were on his shortlist, though it became clear that they were close to landing him.
James would ultimately end up in LA to don the purple and gold, competing for eight years with the Lakers. LeBron maintained his All-Star status each season with the Lakers and helped them win a championship during the 2019-2020 NBA season. While it seemed James could end his career in LA after two stints with the Cavs and a four-year run with the Miami Heat, he shocked the basketball world by joining the 76ers in free agency.
The Sixers believe they have the tools to compete for a title in 2026-2027, and they'll get tested early on. The NBA opens up the Sixers' schedule with an October 20 matchup against the New York Knicks. LeBron will face one of his former teams (the Cleveland Cavaliers) on October 22. He'll see the Miami Heat for the first time on November 25, before visiting the Lakers one month later.
The 41-year-old is clearly looking forward to suiting up for the Sixers and joining forces with other NBA All-Stars, with the hopes of helping the team win its first NBA championship in decades.
