LeBron James made some pretty huge sacrifices before choosing to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers as a free agent. Aside from the fact that he took a colossal discount, his living arrangement also became more complicated, as he reportedly intends to live in New York while playing for the team. However, it appears that Patrick Beverley wants The King to ditch than plan of his and live in Philly instead.
Speaking on the Pat Bev Show, Beverley, who played for the 76ers three years ago, urged LeBron to live in Philly as he plays for his new ball club. The former NBA vet shared how much he enjoyed playing in the city despite his brief stint with the franchise, noting that living in Philadelphia is necessary in order to truly enjoy the experience of suiting up for the team and its passionate fanbase.

As mentioned, after James bared his monumental decision to come to Philly, there were numerous reports about him preferring to live in the Big Apple while playing for the 76ers. The distance between both cities is pretty reasonable given the circumstances, but it would still require LeBron and his camp to map out an actual plan just to get him to the team's facilities.
Beverley played with James back when he suited up for the Lakers, so he has some knowledge of how LeBron prefers his surroundings to look. Given that the superstar has lived in Los Angeles for nearly a decade now, it is actually not a surprise that he wants to establish and solidify his base in another huge market in New York.
Still, as Beverley pointed out, the Philadelphia experience is a unique one. People from the city are especially a zealous bunch for their home teams, the 76ers included. It certainly would feel different if James were to matriculate into the city as a more visible figure therein as he plays for the franchise.
That being said, nothing is set in stone yet as to LeBron's living arrangement now that he is set to suit up for the 76ers. Nevertheless, no matter what happens, the ultimate goal for both him and the team is to win a championship next season –– plain and simple. What is truly important for this squad to find success is that much-needed chemistry to maximize the historic amount of talent they have on the roster.
