In most cases, reunions are fun, though they are surely not as typical in the NBA. Most teams and players don’t pursue a re-do sans for sentimental reasons. The Philadelphia 76ers aren’t devout followers of that unwritten rule though, having welcomed back some of their previous players in recent years.

This upcoming summer, a slew of former 76ers are once again slated to hit free agency. And while re-iginiting the old flame will certainly be not atop the front office’s whiteboard, here are four old cagers they should consider re-signing this offseason.

1. Andre Drummond

As we say for the nth time, pursuing Andre Drummond, while not as major scale-wise in comparison to the 76ers’ grandiose summer plans, should be a notable inclusion in their bucket list. The team mightily struggled when Joel Embiid was sidelined due to injury, and while they openly pursued the former All-Star to man the spot on the interim, they ultimately failed to pry him away from the Bulls.

Chicago is a near-guarantee to let him go in free agency, and with Philadelphia now being more compelled to streamline Embiid’s load moving forward, there’s no one better to give the team security on the center position than Drummond, who also spent a season with the franchise just two seasons ago.

Still a pretty imposing presence in the paint, the 30-year-old Drummond is still arguably the best board-crasher in the NBA, especially on the offensive glass. He remains an adept play finisher, and though his weaknesses can be magnified quite easily, his limited serving of court time is a great way to mask them.
