The Philadelphia 76ers navigated the early season James Harden drama and are in the thick of the title race. They won 15 of their first 22 games with Joel Embiid making his case for best player on the planet and Tyrese Maxey becoming a star. Daryl Morey and the Sixers front office got draft capital for Harden to trade, and they would love to improve their roster before the Feb. 8 deadline.

The Sixers could add a third star or go for depth around Embiid and Maxey. Morey is always searching for top-end talent, but Philadelphia may only need a piece or two to cement its status as a title contender. They can have cap space in the offseason, which is another roadblock to navigate if Morey wants to maintain flexibility.

Fans are clamoring for a trade before the deadline. Talks will heat up this week as most players who signed contracts in the offseason become eligible to be traded on Dec. 15. Who should the 76ers target?

5. Donte DiVincenzo

The Knicks inked DiVincenzo to a four-year $46.8 million contract in the offseason. The 26-year-old was eager to join his Villanova teammates Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart in the Big Apple, but his playing time and production are down.

Is the 6’4 guard happy with his current role? He is playing his fewest minutes per game since his rookie season in 2019. His scoring and playmaking opportunities have also dipped, but DiVincenzo is shooting a career-high 42.7 percent from 3-point range. The Knicks want to upgrade their roster and could look to send him out as part of the package.

Philadelphia needs another guard who will play stout defense and make a few plays. DiVincenzo is comfortable coming off the bench and filling a role. If the 76ers decide to add pieces, the 6’4 guard would be a fantastic fit. Donte DiVincenzo will only be available if the Knicks can land a star before the deadline.
