2018 NBA Draft

How well will the 1st round pick Philadelphia chooses this season will have a direct bearing on their future picks.   By this time, the expectation is that the Phildelphia 76ers will be in post season, and no longer enjoying the chance at a first pick in the draft.  But that is what the Sixers are after, isn’t it?

And the chance at a lottery pick does not end there.  If the LA Laker pick is not conveyed to the Sixers previously, their first round draft pick becomes unprotected in 2018.  The Sixers will once more enjoy two first round picks.

While the Philadelphia 76ers do not enjoy the chance to swap first round picks, they will have a quartet of second round picks to use or exchange:

They will enjoy their own second round pick Philadelphia.   They will also lay claim to the second round pick of the Los Angeles Clippers.   A third second round pick will arrive by way of the New York Knicks.  Finally a fourth second round pick will come to the Philadelphia 76ers – which will be the move favorable of either that of the Brooklyn Nets or that from the Cleveland Cavaliers.

NBA Draft Summary:

Philadelphia 76ers first round pick.
Los Angeles Lakers first round pick unprotected (if it doesn’t convey in 2017)

Philadelphia 76ers second round pick
more favorable second round pick of either Brooklyn Nets or Cleveland Cavaliers.
Los Angeles Clippers second round pick
New York Knicks second round pick
