30. Justin Jackson, Sacramento Kings

Jackson probably shouldn’t be a starter. The Kings would be best served starting Buddy Hield and Bogdan Bogdanovic together on the wing, although that didn’t quite happen last season. So, by default, we’ll stick with the former North Carolina star, who comes in at 30.

29. Mario Hezonja, New York Knicks

Hezonja will be thrust into a bigger role in his first season with the Knicks. There are a lot of question marks around New York’s starting five, but Hezonja is well-positioned to battle for one of those spots.

He took a big step forward last season, coming on strong during the season’s final months. The Magic often used Hezonja as a small-ball four — where he had success — but his natural position is the three. David Fizdale doesn’t seem opposed to playing his youngsters.

28. James Ennis III, Houston Rockets

Assuming Carmelo Anthony is genuinely willing to accept a bench role, Ennis will be the Rockets’ starters. His doesn’t have the same name brand as Melo (or even Trevor Ariza), but he’s a hard-nosed defender who brings some promising traits to the wing. He’s a solid addition and serviceable starter.
