4. Mike Muscala

Mike Muscala spent the majority of his career on floundering teams in Atlanta. A three-team deal has given Muscala the chance to appear in the playoffs once again. Muscala’s offensive versatility will make him a crucial part of the Sixers’ second unit.

As previously stated, the Sixers will need all the bench shooting that they can find. Muscala  provides proven long-range shooting, in addition to size. At 6-foot-11, Muscala can lineup at the four or five. He gives the Sixers plenty of lineup options. He could play power forward alongside Amir Johnson or Joel Embiid, or he could man the five-spot with Dario Saric and Ben Simmons. Mike Muscala gives Brett Brown other player to experiment with.

The former Bucknell Bison enters 2018 as a career 37 percent shooter from distance. This past season, Muscala shot 37 percent from three, and 45 percent overall. The Atlanta Hawks were an awful team last year, but they ranked 10th in pace and 8th in assists per game.

The Sixers have a similar offensive philosophy and scheme to what Mike Budenholzer and the Hawks ran. Mike Muscala will fit right at home, in Brett Brown’s system.

The Sixers have playmakers at all five positions. Mike Muscala is tailor made for the Sixers’ offense.  He’s carved out a career stretching the floor and could feasibly drop 10 points per game this season.
