At some point, the Jazz should right the ship. Even in the loaded Western Conference, Utah feels like a strong bet to at least make a run at the postseason. If things go south, however, and it results in a top pick — c/o flattened lottery odds — Utah could get a much-needed boost.
Right now, Donovan Mitchell is the offensive bell cow for the Jazz. He’s their only reliable volume scorer, carrying a massive burden with questionable efficiency. Giving Quin Snyder another NBA-ready, go-to scorer could work wonders. R.J. Barrett fits the mold seamlessly.
The Jazz would ideally add another floor spacer, but Barrett has molded himself into a solid (and improving) three-point shooter. He’s also an apt passer, though tunnel vision is an issue at times. The fit isn’t perfect, but Mitchell/Barrett/Rudy Gobert is a trio you can build around.
