There should be no doubt that two time All-Star Joel Embiid will be starting at center this season. He played at an MVP level last year, averaging 27.5 points, 13.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.9 blocks. His role as team’s leading scorer shouldn’t change this year, but the Harris should help take some of the scoring burden off of the big man’s back.
Primary reserve
Like with Harris shifting down to the power forward position, it’s very likely that Horford will be playing center at times when Embiid is on the bench. However, its unlikely that Horford will be the only player to relieve Embiid. Defensive big man Kyle O’Quinn should see minutes most nights, as I’ve written about in the past.
Rest of depth
Bolden’s not the perfect backup center, but he can manage the position if Philly needs him to. They also have Norvel Pelle on a two-way contract if they become extremely thin at the position, but don’t expect that to happen very often.
That finishes up the projected depth charts for each position entering the 2019-20 season for the Philadelphia 76ers. Agree or disagree? Comment below with your opinion.
