Marquese Chriss
This isn’t the first time I wrote about Marquese Chriss being a potential target for the Sixers this offseason. He’s been a disappointment as eighth overall pick back in the 2016 NBA Draft. He had his best season as a rookie when he averaged 9.2 points and 4.2 rebounds, while shooting 44.9 percent from the floor with the Phoenix Suns.
More from Free Agency
- Grade the Deal: 76ers match Jazz’s wily offer sheet, keep Paul Reed
- Grade the Deal: 76ers sign free agent Mo Bamba, retain Montrezl Harrell
- Philadelphia 76ers add center depth by signing Mo Bamba
- This stunning free agency slip could doom the 76ers next season
- 5 best remaining free agents the 76ers should target
After showing that promise his rookie season, the combo big has regressed these past two seasons. He’s also played for three teams in three years, never finding a permanent home. Now the 22-year-old is a free agent.
At that young age, there’s still time for Chriss to turn his career around, but he will have to show development in the G-League inorder to do that. The Sixers could give him an Exhibit 10 to help him get some work in at an NBA training camp and then monitor his development with the Blue Coats. He still has potential he could reach and it’s something the Sixers could at bare minimum evaluate.
Each of these players on this list could benefit the Philadelphia 76ers in the long term if signed to an Exhibit 10. Agree or disagree with this list? Comment below if there’s another player that the Sixers should consider.
